2016 Resolutions

Most people do new year’s resolutions, right? As far as I know, few people actually accomplish them, though. Maybe I can do a bit better.

My goals for this blog for the next year are a combination of things that can be accomplished in the short term as well over the course of the year. In no particular order:

  * Get a logo produced and finalized. I expect to have this by the end of 2015, but will start considering contingencies if not.
  * Set up Twitter and Facebook accounts for this blog and use them for publicity and interaction. I don't know how much this will actually affect traffic, but there's only one way to find out. Like the blog itself, my goal would be to update those daily. This can be done automatically with WordPress, at least.
  * Get back into a pattern of lengthy articles rather than hot takes on recent news and so forth. This is more likely toward the end of January onward.
  * Revisit the site's thematic concept more often. This is a blog about resilient constructs, after all, and I don't discuss those as often as I'd like.
  * Come up with daily post themes, as well. I already have those for Saturday and Sunday, but for the rest of the week it would be helpful, too.
  * At least once a quarter, do 5-part weeklong features that explore a particular topic in depth. I have some ideas for this, and I think long-form post series would be a good change of pace.
  * If possible, have more guest posts and authors. I may need to reach out directly to people to help facilitate that, too.
  * Post something daily in 2016. I've managed to do this pretty well in 2015, but I only started this blog in the middle of October. Can I go the entire year without missing a day? Let's find out!
  * Employ more audiovisual content, when possible and appropriate. People like graphs and videos and so forth. They can spice up an article. This might entail me actually _making_ videos, which I am less than enamored with--it's not something I have much competence with, but I suppose practice is the only way to get better.

That’s all I can think of at the moment, though I may add to the list as the year goes on.

I wish you all a happy and healthy end to 2015!
